As a Christian, my Sunday morning started in the church. Once we got back home the sun was out, and so was I (up to a certain extent). My other aunt has come as well so that she can tomorrow take me to the office, which kind off was her former workplace. Together we had their first barbecue of the year and did more fun stuff. (22.4)
In the morning I had to travel from Guildford all the way up to Croydon. This meant that my morning started towards 6 o'clock. My official work placement is at the HM Land Registry, in Dutch, it is the ‘Kadaster’. I started with meeting Parita. She showed me around and gave me all my access details so that I could start with the introduction. I looked through their 9-page file of how they cooperate and that they have three main registers. Besides the registers, they have Yellow, Green and Blue tasks to do. At 11.30 they had a so-called ‘huddle’, which basically is a type of staff meeting which happens at least once a week. I got welcomed there and from then on I just read more information on what actually goes on and saw one of their main programs of what they roughly do. Towards quarter to twelve, I headed upstairs to Customer Team where I met Ben. First I got showed, a bit more in detail, the programs they work within this team (CT1). I went for a lunch break with Shirley who you will hear more about soon. Ben later introduced me to Alison, with whom I for a good 40 minutes worked through two application forms to apply for a charge/mortgage. This needs to be done via the DayList, a program where all the assignments come in. After Alison came Sara-Jane who let me work on a lease case. I had to fill in all the details and basically, if you are the two who applied for your garage, you're welcome! With 'SJ' I learnt that most of what they need to do are double checks on every single thing. The last but not least of the day was Carol who explained to me what they do with customers who still need to still fil in some forms or who require extra information. At the end of the day, I had to search the DayList for the 'no-entry' -passed numbers to see who the caseworker was. There are three zones and you are not supposed to re-enter a previous zone. So all the people that I found, will basically be told off :). I went 'home' to where my heart will be for the next week. Thankfully a lovely family has allowed me to stay with them so that I do not have to travel so far every day.. Although I learnt so much new things, I received a lot of information plus the early morning that I am worn out.

Wow, what a day! I feel worn out just reading all the details of this busy day. Well done, Simke, good job! By the way, I very much like 'huddle' as the name of a staff meeting.
